Mime Over Mind is a therapeutic program that promotes mindfulness, movement, and self-expression for people living with Parkinson’s disease. Drawing from the art of mime, the program led by Barbara Salsberg uses imaginative physical techniques to support both motor and emotional well-being.

Why Mime?
Mime is playful, accessible, and requires no equipment, making it easy to do anytime, anywhere. It’s adaptable for all abilities and offers a joyful way to stay active, manage symptoms, and boost quality of life.

How It Works
The program strengthens the brain-body connection by engaging fine and gross motor skills, visualization, and motor memory. Participants learn core mime techniques to create the illusion of interacting with invisible objects. Exercises begin with real-world props to build awareness of weight, size, and texture, gradually shifting to mime-based movement that enhances mindfulness and body awareness through repetition.
