Communication & Swallow Workshop (Virtual)
Communication and Swallowing Workshop: Virtual
Saturday, July 25, 2025, 10:00am – 2:00pm PT
Join us this July for our virtual Communication & Swallowing Workshop, led by Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Jasmine Cload. This interactive and participatory session will focus on the communication and swallowing challenges commonly experienced by people living with Parkinson’s disease. Open to individuals currently experiencing communication or swallowing difficulties, as well as those looking to be proactive in their care.
If you are not currently experiencing communication or swallowing challenges, participating in the workshop may help reduce future stress, frustration, and complications related to communication. For those already experiencing difficulties, the workshop will provide practical, evidence-based tools to address common concerns such as:
- Articulation and volume
- Swallowing of food, liquid, pills and salvia
- Drooling and dry mouth
- Facial expression and voice intonation
- Word finding and participating in conversation
Registered participants will receive a workshop workbook by mail in advance of the session to support participation and continued learning. Carepartners are encouraged to attend alongside their loved one and do not require separate registration if they will be attending on the same device.
Please note that space is limited, registration is required, and a waitlist will be created once capacity is reached. If you register and are no longer able to attend, we kindly ask that you notify us as soon as possible so that we may offer your spot to another participant.
If you are based on Vancouver Island and would prefer to attend in person, we will also be offering this workshop in Nanaimo later this year.
Please note: This workshop is intended to provide general education and is not a substitute for individual medical advice, assessment, or clinical care.
