Are you experiencing low mood or apathy? These common non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease can make it difficult to find motivation, engage in activities, or experience joy. While symptoms may limit certain abilities, adapting familiar activities or exploring new ones can help restore a sense of purpose and pleasure.

This five-session virtual group is designed to help people with Parkinson’s break cycles of inactivity, improve mood, and regain motivation through Behavioral Activation Therapy (BAT)—an evidence-based approach rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy. In this group, we focus on behavior—changing negative patterns to enhance overall well-being, improve mood, and reduce apathy, while fostering a positive mindset.

Led by clinical social worker Corrina Masson, participants will learn practical tools to:

  • Share experiences and overcome barriers
  • Set meaningful, value-driven goals
  • Increase task initiation and activity engagement
  • Develop problem-solving strategies for daily challenges
  • Create a personalized wellness plan for long-term motivation

Through guided discussions, hands-on exercises, and group support, this program fosters encouragement, accountability, and sustainable positive change.

A screening call will take place before the program begins. Participants must reside in BC.
