Are you newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD)?
If you’ve been diagnosed within the past three years, join us for our virtual New Diagnosis Workshop Series this February!
Led by a team of experts from the UBC Centre for Brain Health Movement Disorder Clinic, including Dr. Jonathan Squires, Dr. Melissa Mackenzie, Michelle McCarthy (PT), Joanna Davis (NP), Elaine Book (SW), Yolanda Wang (RD), and Rosa Jafari (OT), this series is designed to help you better understand your diagnosis.
Each weekly session will focus on an important PD topic, followed by a 10-minute Q&A to address your questions.
Please note that separate registration is required for each session.
Session 1: Etiology, Diagnosis, and Symptoms – Dr. Jonathan Squires, movement disorder specialist
In the first session of our New Diagnosis Series, Dr. Squires joins us to provide an overview of Parkinson’s disease (PD), with a focus on motor symptoms that may present for diagnosed individuals. Epidemiology, causes of PD, and how a PD diagnosis is made will also be discussed.
Parkinson Society BC appreciates all gifts, as they allow us to continue to offer programs people with Parkinson’s disease and their carepartners rely on. If you wish, you can make a donation by entering an amount in the Additional Donation field. |
