Parkinson Society British Columbia offers short-term psychotherapy for people with Parkinson’s disease and carepartners, supporting emotional wellbeing, coping, relationships, grief, anxiety, and adjustment through compassionate, practical counselling.

A notice to our valued clients

Counselling and healthcare navigation services with Parkinson Society British Columbia are temporarily on pause while we recruit a new counsellor. During this transition period, we want to ensure you continue to have access to emotional, mental health, and practical supports if needed.

The resources below are available to you during this time. You are welcome to explore any options that feel supportive or relevant for you.

  • Self-Guided Mental Health Supports

    BounceBack BC

    BounceBack BC is a free, evidence-based online program that uses cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)–informed tools to support anxiety, depression, and stress. It offers guided self-help, including workbooks, videos, and optional telephone coaching. This program is not one-to-one counselling, but may be a helpful support while counselling services are on pause.

    SAIL – Seniors Abuse and Information Line

    The Seniors Abuse and Information Line (SAIL) is a confidential information line for older adults and those who care about them to speak to a professional intake worker about abuse, mistreatment and any issues that impact the health and well-being of older adults in BC.

    SAIL is available Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm, excluding statutory holidays.  Language interpretation is available.
