On Friday, February 3, 2017, CTV News featured a piece on Paddi Wood, a Brentwood Bay resident who is one of the handful of British Columbians that may benefit from the DUODOPA therapy.
Despite our ongoing pleas, BC PharmaCare has refused to show compassion, and follow the lead of other provinces by funding this drug. For some Parkinson’s patients, including Paddi Wood, DUODOPA is their last source of hope in combatting the devastating symptoms of the disease.
CTV News (National) published the story on their Facebook Page, and it has since gained thousands of responses, prompting many to ask how they can help. For anyone looking for a way to show their support for the funding of DUODOPA, we encourage them to write a letter to government officials. Instructions on who to contact, along with a sample letter, can be found on our website under About Us > Advocacy > DUODOPA Therapy.
