Dr. James Parkinson was born on April 11th, 1755. The British Physician is known for writing An Essay on the Shaking Palsy, which is widely credited as the first document that recognized and described Parkinson’s disease (PD) as a medical condition. Every year, April 11th is an opportunity for the global Parkinson’s community to raise awareness about the disease while sumultaneously recognizing the strides that have been taken to improve our understanding of PD.
This evening, the following BC landmarks will help “shed light” on World Parkinson’s Day:

- Fitzsimmons Bridge (Whistler)
