What does an advocacy ambassador do?

As an Advocacy Ambassador, you will play a crucial role in representing the interests of the Parkinson’s community. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Raising Awareness: Educate your community about Parkinson’s disease and the challenges faced by individuals and families.
  • Influencing Policy: Advocate for better healthcare policies, funding, and resources at local and provincial levels.
  • Engaging with Stakeholders: Collaborate with healthcare professionals, policymakers, and other organizations to promote the needs of those affected by Parkinson’s.
  • Sharing Your Story: Use your personal experiences or insights to connect with others and emphasize the importance of advocacy efforts.

What qualities does an advocacy ambassador need?

  • Passion for advocating for the Parkinson’s community.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively share information and engage with others.
  • A collaborative spirit, willing to work with PSBC staff and fellow ambassadors.
