Intimacy and Parkinson’s

February 11, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm PST

Virtual Event Virtual Event

Approximately half of all individuals with Parkinson’s disease experience challenges with intimacy and sexual functioning. These symptoms, though difficult to discuss, are important to address. Factors such as motor and non-motor symptoms, medication effects, and relationship dynamics can all impact the sexual well-being of people with Parkinson’s and their partners.

In this webinar, Elaine Book, social worker at the Pacific Parkinson’s Research Centre, and Tricia Wallace, clinical counsellor at Parkinson Society BC, will explore these challenges and provide strategies to address emotional distance influenced by physical limitations and role transitions brought on by Parkinson’s disease.

Couples are strongly encouraged to attend together, as the webinar will focus on relationships, communication, and shared exercises designed specifically for couples.

Registration is required to access the event. Registrants will have the option to remain anonymous during the presentation.

Important: If you will be watching this presentation with a partner, only one registration is required.
