Parkinson Society British Columbia recognizes that Parkinson’s disease affects not only those diagnosed but also their families and friends. This webinar series is designed to support caregivers by offering valuable information and tools to help manage the challenges and stress associated with caregiving.

We invite all caregivers to join this series and encourage participants to bring their questions, as each session will include time for Q&A and discussion.

Please note that separate registration is required for each session.

Session 1: Taking Care of Yourself – Self-Compassion for CaregiversStacey Dawes, caregiver engagement lead

Family caregiving can arise unexpectedly or in response to a crisis, often during busy and demanding times. Balancing caregiving responsibilities can be both a deeply rewarding experience and a source of emotional and physical strain. In this webinar, we will explore the importance of support in your caregiver role, reflect on your current level of self-care, and discuss the practice of self-compassion.

We will also examine how to build and utilize support networks and understand the dimensions of resilience. Additionally, Family Caregivers of British Columbia will share valuable resources to assist caregivers in their journey, helping you navigate the challenges of caregiving while prioritizing your well-being.
