As of February 2023, Parkinson Society BC's exercise programs will be promoted with an assigned level of difficulty. This allows individuals to select a program that aligns with their current fitness level and ability. The levels will range from low to high intensity, providing a progression path for individuals to improve their fitness at their own pace. This new feature also ensures that individuals do not attempt exercises that are too challenging for them, reducing the risk of injury or discouragement.

Below you will find a description of each level.

Level 1

Slow-paced, low-intensity, and low-impact class. Suitable for all levels of ability, especially those who are new to exercise and prefer a gentler approach.

Level 2

Moderately-paced and moderate-intensity class. Suitable for those who are looking for a progression from Level 1.

Level 3

Fast-paced and high-intensity class for those who are looking for a challenge. Participants must be able to safely participate in without a carepartner/caregiver present.

If you have any questions about our exercise programs, including the implementation of our intensity levels, please contact us at info@parkinson.bc.ca.
