A Parkinson’s diagnosis can bring unexpected emotional challenges from changes in self-identity and grief over a former lifestyle, to uncertainty about the future.
Join registered clinical counsellor Sara Ahmadian of Searchlight Counselling for an insightful conversation on the emotional impact of Parkinson’s for both those living with the disease and their care partners. Sara will share strategies for navigating difficult emotions such as sadness, loss, and disconnection, while offering practical tools to rebuild purpose, connection, and a sense of self.
We are also joined by David Walker, a long-time sports enthusiast and Parkinson’s advocate, who continues to pursue his passions in ultra-running, triathlons, and cycling. His story is one of resilience and adaptation, showing how meaningful hobbies and personal values can remain central after a diagnosis.
Open to people with Parkinson’s and their carepartners.
