Are you newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD)?
If you’ve been diagnosed within the past three years, join us for our virtual New Diagnosis Workshop Series this February!
Led by a team of experts from the UBC Centre for Brain Health Movement Disorder Clinic, including Dr. Jonathan Squires, Dr. Melissa Mackenzie, Michelle McCarthy (PT), Joanna Davis (NP), Elaine Book (SW), Yolanda Wang (RD), and Rosa Jafari (OT), this series is designed to help you better understand your diagnosis.
Each weekly session will focus on an important PD topic, followed by a 10-minute Q&A to address your questions.
Please note that separate registration is required for each session.
Session 2: How Social Workers, Dieticians, and Occupational Therapists Can Enhance Your Daily Life – Elaine Book, social worker (SW), Rosa Jafari, occupational therapist (OT), and Yolanda Wang, dietician
This joint presentation will explore a variety of challenges faced by individuals living with Parkinson’s, including stress, mobility, diet, and managing daily activities. The session will highlight the vital roles of a social worker, occupational therapist, and dietitian in providing care and support to enhance the well-being of those with Parkinson’s.
