In the Spring 2018 issue of Viewpoints, Parkinson Society British Columbia (PSBC) highlights a research project led by Dr. Anish Kanungo on the impact of multi-disciplinary movement disorder clinics for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD).

This edition features expert advice from occupational therapist Gina Fernandez on how occupational therapy can benefit PD management, including establishing routines and conducting home safety assessments.

PSBC promotes Parkinson’s Awareness Month through the #PDANDME campaign, art exhibitions, and landmark illuminations. The issue also discusses medical treatment options, including carbidopa-levodopa, Duodopa therapy, and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). Advocacy efforts for increasing access to DBS in British Columbia are addressed, alongside caregiver support resources and upcoming publications.
