Through our partnership with Parkinson Canada, Parkinson Society British Columbia is funding four new research projects from October 2019 - July 2021.
Parkinson Society British Columbia funds the following research projects in partnership with Parkinson Canada:
- Dr. Juan Li: Validation and calibration of the PREDIGT score to predict the incidence of Parkinson's in healthy subjects
- Dr. Ayse Kuspinar: Development of a new health-related quality of life measure for Parkinson’s disease
- Dr. Michael Schlossmacher: LRRK2 activity in health and disease: Elevated ROS levels in inflamed, LRRK2-mutant brain
- Ms. Linda Kim: A new dopaminergic therapeutic target for gait dysfunction in Parkinson disease
Parkinson Society British Columbia continues to co-fund the following research projects with Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research:
- Roger Ashmus: Development of Improved Substrates for Live Cell Imaging to Aid in Discovering New Glucocerebrosidase Therapeutic Agents
- Kota Mizumoto: Genetic Dissection of Neuronal Pattern Formation
