Breaking the Silence: Let’s Talk About Mental Health in Parkinson’s

Managing mental health is an essential aspect of overall health, especially for those with Parkinson’s disease (PD). While PD is known as a movement disorder, many individuals also face non-motor symptoms, including mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and apathy. Studies show that at least 50% of people with PD experience these changes, which, if untreated, can worsen motor symptoms.

Join us for a community talk with PSBC’s clinical social worker and counsellor, Corrina Masson, as she explores the relationship between mental health and Parkinson’s disease. She will delve into common mental health changes linked to PD and share practical strategies from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to help manage these challenges.

A Q&A session will follow the talk. Refreshments will be provided. People with Parkinson’s and their caregivers or family members are welcome to attend.
