Since 1969, Parkinson Society BC has been funded in large part by the fundraising events organized by generous individuals, groups, and businesses in the Parkinson's community and beyond. We understand that organizing a fundraiser is no small feat, and we are grateful for those who contribute to the Society by raising funds and awareness through events like bake sales, dinners, bike rides, golf tourneys, and so much more!

Click through to read about some of the independent community fundraisers put on over the years:

  • Chocolate and Beer Tasting: this annual fundraiser, organized by Sherri Zelazny, is an evening to remember, featuring artisanal chocolates and craft beers paired in perfect harmony.
  • Shifting Gears: Lois Leslie and Paul Gully completed a transcontinental bicycle ride through Europe, East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, in honour of their dear friend, Marg deGrace, who passed away during their travels.
  • Pull for Parkinson's: this annual Ultimate Frisbee tournament, started by Thomas Canale and Miriam Hanjra, brings Surrey high school students together to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson's.

Do you want to help fund research, grow support networks, and improve quality of life for those living with Parkinson's? Become a Champion for Parkinson's and plan your own independent community fundraising event!
