Port Moody

PD Warrior | Port Moody Recreation Complex | 300 Ioco Rd, Port Moody

Date: Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00am-10:00am

Criteria: Participants will be assessed prior to the beginning of the course in order to adapt exercises accordingly for their level. It will be possible to accomodate participants for all levels and abilities.

Description: The PD Warrior 10 Week Challenge is a Parkinson's specific, intensive and specifically designed programme to slow your Parkinson’s symptoms using neuro-active exercises.

PD Warrior is not the same as working out in the gym, going for a walk or going for a swim. Although these are all excellent examples of good exercise behaviours for general fitness and health, they are not specific enough to change the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. What you miss out on by doing generic exercises is the opportunity to drive the brains natural ability to re-wire itself and protect itself depending on the type of Parkinson’s you have. PD Warrior incorporates the most current evidence into its program to ensure that you get success.

Doing the 10 Week Challenge in person, with one of our experienced trainers, means we are there to help cue your movement and positioning. You also get the benefit of interacting with other people on a similar journey to you, a valuable experience in itself. The 10 Week Challenge has been designed to slow the symptom progression of your Parkinson’s. This means the sooner you commence the program the better the opportunity for your brain to re-wire itself and the sooner you can get back into life.

Even if you’re a fit person who exercises regularly you will still benefit from the PD Warrior way of exercise because it is specific to Parkinson’s, your symptoms and your response to exercise. The 10 Week Challenge program has been life changing for many. Now it’s your turn.
