SUMMARY:Communication and Swallow Workshop - Surrey
DESCRIPTION:Join registered speech-language pathologist Jasmine Cload for this interactive\, hands-on workshop exploring the communication and swallowing challenges that can affect people with Parkinson’s. \nThe workshop uses methods from the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment®\, which have been clinically proven to enhance communication for individuals with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions. Participants will learn strategies to address issues such as disordered articulation\, diminished facial expression\, and impaired swallowing. \nIt is open to those already experiencing these difficulties\, as well as those who wish to take a proactive approach. If you are not currently experiencing difficulties\, participation may help reduce stress\, frustration\, and complications in the future. \nPre-workshop requirement: Participants will be asked to complete a questionnaire prior to the event. \nPlease note that a catered lunch will be provided at the event. If you have any dietary restrictions due to allergy\, please contact us by October 3. \nRegistration for this event has now closed.  \n\n\n\n\n\nParkinson Society BC appreciates all gifts\, as they allow us to continue to offer programs people with Parkinson’s disease and their carepartners rely on.
