SUMMARY:Zentangle®: Playing with Patterns - A Six-Week Creative Hand & Dexterity Series
DESCRIPTION:Dates: February 16\, 23\, & March 2\, 9\, 16\, and 23\n\nPlease note: We are aware of an error causing the timezone for this event to display as MST. The series will take place in Pacific Time (PCT). We apologize for any inconvenience. \nEvents on or after November 1 will show as one hour earlier than they are if added to your Outlook calendar. This is an issue with the change from Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) to Pacific Time (PCT). \nDiscover the relaxing and creative world of Zentangle® in this six-week online series with Certified Zentangle® teacher Natasha Dash. \nThe Zentangle® Method is an easy-to-learn and enjoyable way to create beautiful abstract art using simple\, structured patterns called tangles. Each pattern is taught step-by-step using basic strokes such as dots\, lines\, curves\, S-curves\, and orbs. No previous art or drawing experience is needed. \nFor people living with Parkinson’s disease (PD)\, Zentangle® can provide an opportunity to practice fine motor movements\, hand control\, and dexterity through gentle\, repeated drawing strokes. The activity encourages participants to explore hand movements at their own pace while enjoying a creative and relaxing experience. It also offers an opportunity to focus on the present moment\, express creativity\, and enjoy a sense of accomplishment. Everyone’s experience with PD is different\, and participants are encouraged to adapt the activities to their individual abilities and comfort. \nOver six weeks\, participants will be introduced to the foundations of the Zentangle® Method and explore a variety of tangles\, techniques\, and creative possibilities. Each class will build on the previous sessions while also allowing participants to work at their own pace. \nTogether\, participants will create unique pieces of art while exploring creativity\, mindfulness\, relaxation\, and the Zentangle® philosophy of “no mistakes\, only opportunities.” \nThe focus is not on drawing perfectly or making everyone’s artwork look the same. Instead\, participants are encouraged to enjoy the process\, explore what is possible one stroke at a time\, and appreciate their own individual creations. Natasha’s classes provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where participants of all experience levels can explore patterns and develop their own artistic expression. No art experience is required\, and everyone is welcome! \nSee an example of a Zentangle® in the image below: \n \n\n\n\n\nParkinson Society BC appreciates all gifts\, as they allow us to continue to offer programs people with Parkinson’s disease and their carepartners rely on. If you wish\, you can make a donation by entering an amount in the Additional Donation field.
