Common non-motor symptoms such as anxiety and depression may also be alleviated through boxing and exercise. \nThe exercises in this class target Parkinson’s symptoms by using high-intensity (but safe) drills\, introducing multi-tasking skills\, promoting movements to reduce freezing\, and focusing on large movement patterns that counteract the shuffling gait. Doug is also excited to introduce a new fun component this time around– boxing to music. This new addition uses rhythm to help facilitate improved movement and a more confident walking gait. Exercises vary in purpose and form but share one common trait: they are rigorous and intended to extend the perceived capabilities of the participant. \n\n\n\n\n\nParkinson Society BC appreciates all gifts\, as they allow us to continue to offer programs people with Parkinson’s disease and their carepartners rely on.
