SUMMARY:Nutrition and Parkinson's Disease: Enhancing Well-Being through Diet
DESCRIPTION:Living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) comes with unique challenges\, and nutrition is an often-overlooked aspect of managing the condition. Join Dr. Tracy Lister\, registered dietitian\, for an insightful webinar on the critical role of diet in managing Parkinson’s symptoms and enhancing overall well-being. \nThis webinar will delve into how food choices impact the body’s detoxification system\, a key process in the progression of PD. Dr. Lister will discuss the role of essential organs\, such as the gut and liver\, in maintaining health and explore how disruptions in the gut microbiome may contribute to the development and progression of Parkinson’s. \nShe will also explore dietary patterns and food choices that may help slow the progression of PD\, focusing on promoting a healthier gut environment and optimizing liver function. This discussion aims to provide practical dietary strategies to support individuals living with Parkinson’s disease. \n\n\n\n\n\nParkinson Society BC appreciates all gifts\, as they allow us to continue to offer programs people with Parkinson’s disease and their carepartners rely on. If you wish\, you can make a donation by entering an amount in the Additional Donation field. \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nPlease note: These sessions are designed to provide general education and are not intended for individual advice and/or clinical care. Please note that any Q&A sessions that take place will not be recorded.
