 Dates: January 6\, 13\, 20\, 27\, & February 3\, 10\, 17\, 24\, & March 3\
 , 10\, 17\, and 24 \nAre you ready…to punch out Parkinson’s? Join Doug
Pickard (a former Rock Steady Boxing Affiliate Owner) for 12 weeks of Box
ing with Rhythm! Persons living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) will exper
ience a total workout for both their mind and body as it incorporates card
 io\, strength\, balance\, hand-eye coordination\, and speed! Common non-mo
tor symptoms such as anxiety and depression may also be alleviated through
boxing and exercise. \nThe exercises in this class target PD symptoms by
 using high-intensity (but safe) drills\, introducing multi-tasking skills\
, promoting movements to reduce freezing\, and focusing on large movement
patterns that counteract shuffling gait. Doug is also excited to introduce
a new fun component this time around– boxing to music. This new additio
n uses rhythm to help facilitate improved movement and a more confident wa
 lking gait. Exercises vary in purpose and form but share one common trait;
they are rigorous and intended to extend the perceived capabilities of th
e participant. \nPlease note: Participation in the exercise programs list

SUMMARY:Zentangle®: Playing with Patterns - A Six-Week Creative Hand & Dexterity Series
DESCRIPTION:Event time: 2027-02-16 4:00 pm to 2027-02-16 5:00 pm Pacific Ti
me (PCT\, UTC-7).\n\nPlease note: You are registering for a series of even
ts. If you register for one event\, you register for the entire series.\n\
 nDates: February 16\, 23\, & March 2\, 9\, 16\, and 23 \nDiscover the rela
xing and creative world of Zentangle® in this six-week online series with
Certified Zentangle® teacher Natasha Dash. \nThe Zentangle® Method is a
n easy-to-learn and enjoyable way to create beautiful abstract art using s
imple\, structured patterns called tangles. Each pattern is taught step-by
 -step using basic strokes such as dots\, lines\, curves\, S-curves\, and o
rbs. No previous art or drawing experience is needed. \nFor people living
with Parkinson’s disease (PD)\, Zentangle® can provide an opportunity t
o practice fine motor movements\, hand control\, and dexterity through gen
tle\, repeated drawing strokes. The activity encourages participants to ex
plore hand movements at their own pace while enjoying a creative and relax
ing experience. It also offers an opportunity to focus on the present mome
nt\, express creativity\, and enjoy a sense of accomplishment. Everyone’
s experience with PD is different\, and participants are encouraged to ada
pt the activities to their individual abilities and comfort. \nOver six we
eks\, participants will be introduced to the foundations of the Zentangle
® Method and explore a variety of tangles\, techniques\, and creative pos
sibilities. Each class will build on the previous sessions while also allo
wing participants to work at their own pace. \nTogether\, participants wil
l create unique pieces of art while exploring creativity\, mindfulness\, r
elaxation\, and the Zentangle® philosophy of “no mistakes\, only opport
unities.” \nThe focus is not on drawing perfectly or making everyone’s
artwork look the same. Instead\, participants are encouraged to enjoy the
process\, explore what is possible one stroke at a time\, and appreciate
their own individual creations. Natasha’s classes provide a supportive a
nd non-judgmental environment where participants of all experience levels
can explore patterns and develop their own artistic expression. No art exp
erience is required\, and everyone is welcome! \nSee an example of a Zenta
ngle® in the image below: \n \n\n\n\n\nParkinson Society BC appreciates a
