DESCRIPTION:Parkinson’s Class: Strong\, Stable & Mindful \n\n					Please note: You are registering for a series of events. If you register for one event\, you register for the entire series.\nDates: April 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\, & 30 \nJoin us for this 5-session Level 2 series designed to help you build core strength\, increase flexibility\, improve balance\, and relieve stress. Each session includes:\n•Warm-Up: Connection and breathwork\n•Yoga Poses: Seated and standing\, using a chair for support\n•Mindfulness: Affirmations and meditation\n•Rest: Guided savasana \nUsing the support of a chair\, this class encourages independence while promoting safe\, mindful movement. \nWho Is This For?\nThis class is ideal for individuals seeking a supportive\, accessible yoga practice that builds functional strength and emphasizes the body-mind connection. \nAbout the Instructor\nDanya Nonis is a yoga teacher and certified C-IAYT yoga therapist. She has experience working with individuals with neurological conditions\, including Parkinson’s disease\, in movement-based programs and continues to train in specialized techniques. Her trauma-informed\, pain-aware teaching style supports individuals in finding comfort and ease in both body and mind. \n\n\n\n\n\nParkinson Society BC appreciates all gifts\, as they allow us to continue to offer programs people with Parkinson’s disease and their carepartners rely on. SUMMARY:Hand & Dexterity Exercise Class (Level 1)
DESCRIPTION:Dates: May 5\, 12\, 19\, and June 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\, & 30 \n\n					Please note: You are registering for a series of events. If you register for one event\, you register for the entire series.\nJoin physiotherapist\, Shelly Yu\, for an exercise series focused on hand and dexterity challenges associated with Parkinson’s Disease. Exercises in this series will target upper extremity movement\, hand dexterity\, grip strength\, hand-finger coordination and handwriting. As this is a hand and dexterity class\, all exercises will be done sitting. Please ensure you have a table available to use for the handwriting portion of the class. \nEquipment to prepare for the exercise series:\n•A tea towel/ kitchen towel\n•A small cushion/pillow\n•Light hand weights (if no weights are available\, you can use cans of soup/beans etc.)\n•A cup and 20 pieces of macaroni/pasta\n•A pen/pencil and lined pieces of paper \n\n\n\n\n\nParkinson Society BC appreciates all gifts\, as they allow us to continue to offer programs people with Parkinson’s disease and their carepartners rely on.
